Share A Cup With A Brave Canuck! was proud to be one of a list of sponsors for the Fairways for Heroes 1st Annual Golf Tournament on June 9th, 2010.
Over $8000 was raised for the Canadian Forces Military Families Fund!! This charity, started by former Chief of Defence Staff General (Ret’d) Rick Hillier in April 2007, raises funds to support the families of serving members of our Canadian Forces. “It assists military families faced with unforeseen and often immediate needs that have resulted due to conditions of service.” Visit http://www.cfpsa.com/en/corporate/mfamily/index.asp for more information on how you can help.
Our guests of honour included former CDS General (Ret’d) Rick Hillier, Director General of Land Staff Brigadier General D.W. Thompson, and CEFCOM Assistant Chief of Staff- Support Colonel D.A. Rundle.
All who attended, played, volunteered, and worked hard to make this tournament a success should be proud of their efforts!

On its way to Kandahar Air Field is another box with 246 Tim cards for our troops!! All of them have a personal letter or message from Canadians just like you from all over the country. That brings 2010’s total cards sent to Afghanistan to 804!!
Thank you for your continued support.
Keep them coming in…A new rotation of troops arrived in April.
The Share A Cup team was happy to attend this year’s Public Safety 411 Lecture Series held at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario.
We have received over 60 Tim cards for our troops in Afghanistan. These cards, from the Residents of Rosedale Village in Brampton, Ontario, included warm messages of support and love. Off to Kandahar they go!!
Here’s how her stint in war-torn Afghanistan gave her a greater appreciation for our soldiers – and our country.

It is almost cool, but the promise of 50-degree heat hangs in the air. (more…)
Many thanks to 680 News and CTV News, plus the many people across Canada who have donated to this cause!
